Week 1
In the first
week of media, our teacher was telling the class what our project for the next
few weeks would be and that we had to do. Our project was that we had to make a
teaser trailer with two ancillary texts which were a poster and a magazine
cover complimentary to our teaser trailer and an evaluation. This year we had the choice to pick
our own groups of either a group of three or four; I was in a group of four
with Sasha, Harlina and Navtej. Once we
were settled into our groups we started talking about teaser trailers and what
is the difference between a trailer and a teaser trailer. We started to look at
previous teaser trailers from students and started to look at what we liked
about their teaser trailer and what we should avoid doing in our work. At this
point we still didn't have a look at real media teaser trailers because our
teacher wanted us to think about what the word creativity meant to us. In
the next lesson we were thinking about the word creativity and where do ideas
come from, our main question was 'What is Creativity?’. There was a quote on
the board at the beginning of the lesson to get us thinking about our task,
'The making of the new and the re-arranging the old' Bentley 1997 – my
group thought that this meant no idea is your own or original and that you get
ideas from things you have seen or heard before, this was followed on by a
video clip we watched by Kirby Ferguson called 'Everything is a Remix'. This
video explained that original ideas are copied combined and transformed to make
something new. In pairs we had to think in our own words what we thought
creativity meant; creativity is the use of the imagination or original ideas,
especially used in the production of an artistic work.
As we were watching the video of Everything is a Remix we were taking down notes. A remix is basically 'to combine or edit existing material to produce something new'. We also saw that even the biggest producers 'copy , transform and combine', this meant you don't need to have skills or money to be creative due to modern technology as it allows people to produce and distribute media
texts themselves in their own homes, and this also showed us that nothing is original.

Week 2
In week
two we started to look at teaser trailers and analyse them, we looked at;
Independence Day, Inception, The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo and Skyfall - we
split these films up so each of us would get 1 teaser trailer each to
analyse. After we watched and analysed these real media text, we looked
at previous teaser trailers done by students from Lampton
School. We wanted to analyse 4 of the teaser trailer we looked at so we
split these up so each of us could analyse one teaser trailers
each. Analysing the Lampton School teaser trailers helped us be more realistic
in what we could achieve and portray in our media products in the time we have
to construct our teaser trailer. After getting to look at all these teaser
trailers we had a good insight on what we have to do for ours, also these
trailers gave us some more ideas to put together for our own media product.
We started to think about our own ideas of a film to put into a teaser trailer which would be our main storyline which should be evident in our teaser trailer. Our first idea was to do a Film Noir genre but modernising it to appeal to our younger target audience, this seemed difficult and as that hadn’t been done in the previous year’s, this meant it would be a challenge which me and my group liked. However when I was looking for real media teaser trailers there wasn't any Film Noir teaser trailers so me and my group decided to change our idea as we didn’t have a clear understanding on how we could portray this and what typical conventions to include, due to this we decided to change our idea to a typical Horror genre. This is because within this genre there are lots of sub-genres to look at and hybrids to get ideas from which we then could combine with other ideas. We thought about what kind of sub-genres were within this genre and which one we would like to do or combine to have a hybrid. After we started to watch the teaser trailers of successful horror films in the past and looked at how they made their teaser trailer effective and appealing to their target audiences. We had an idea of what type of style we wanted to go for so we started to look at some inspirational teaser trailers and analysed 3 of them. I analysed evil dead as I thought it would be a good teaser trailer to analyse as the themes were similar to our ideas and the shots and colour schemed used were effective for the genre. Next lesson we thought of some ideas and themes to consider in our teaser trailer, we started to thinking about a girl at home by herself and hears a noise downstairs, as she hears a noise she goes downstairs into her living room and sees that the whole room is ruined and everything is broken. The whole idea is that someone has broken into her house along with is a few bad events occurring for example the girl being dragged down the stairs and being chased around in her own house, blood everywhere - just the typical conventions you seen in horror films. We wanted our shots to be fast and cut quickly to the next shot, this is because the teaser trailer we looked that had this effect and created a face pace teaser trailer with tension, also in between these cuts we wanted some cuts to flash to black this is mainly because when we were watching real teaser trailers this was a key aspect we picked out. However we had all these events occurring but we didn't have a main storyline.
Next week's goals:
- Think of ideas for a storyline
- Look at inspiration teaser trailers

Week 3
When we came
back to lesson we carried on looking at horror teaser trailers to get more inspiration.
We started to talk about our own ideas for the storyline of our teaser trailer
but our ideas weren't fitting together. We decided to look at previous
teaser trailers again which are specific to our genre. As we looked at
other students teaser trailer in the previous years the ideas were very similar
and weren't different so we decided to change our idea again. At this point we
were quite behind compare to other groups as they were already talking about their
ideas, storylines and events. We started to think about different genres
previous students haven't done and we realised that science fiction hasn't been
one of the main genres that we saw, this would be quite challenging. We as a
group thought science fiction would be a good genre to do, as it would give us
a challenge and let us experiment with our work.
We were looking at films and teaser trailers with a science fiction genre then started to think about ideas for our own teaser trailer; we came up with a reality TV game show gone wrong, this is where the contestants think they are on a reality show and not realising they are actually fighting for survival and that there are people watching them. Later in the show things go terrible wrong and each contestant are fighting for their lives.
Next lesson we split up tasks between the four of us in our group; analysis of films chosen, questionnaires and results, institutions to produce and distribute our film, costumes and so on.
I had to think a about the mise-en-scene and make a storyboard. I had to think what the characters would be wearing and how it would be suitable for our teaser trailer, Navtej helped draw the draft version of the costumes and then I took pictures of the costumes on our characters to see what it looked like on. Next to the costumes I wrote about what they would be wearing and background information about the character. Next lesson I looked at some locations to use, I found a few locations; Osterley Park, Richmond park, Hyde park and Ruislip Lido, after visiting the sites and I found that Ruislip Lido was best suited as it had a beach and a forest behind it, this location looked isolated and deserted as this was one of the conventions we were aiming for. At the end of the lesson I started to think about the storyboards and what events I would put within it.
Next week's goals:
- Think about the storyline in full detail
- Have some ideas for the draft storyboard
- Think about what props should be used

Week 4
At the beginning
of the lesson we had to present out ideas to the rest of our class to get
feedback from them and our teacher. We had a few points our teacher gave us to
cover when presenting our idea to the class, to make it easier we split the
questions up so we each has at least one question each to talk about. As we
didn't discuss our idea well amongst our team members because we changed it
last minute this meant we didn't have a clear understanding of our storyline,
this was evident presenting our idea because when we were telling the class members
they didn't have a comprehend much as we didn’t have much time to discuss
within our group due to this we didn't get a good review as we wanted to as our
audience were a bit confused. We got back together as a group and reconstructed our
idea to make sense. Two members of
our team made a questionnaire last week and gave them out to people, when we
got the results back we analysed them and made graphs to show the results
clearly.
From the results we saw what our target audience preferred from the choices given. This helped me because when I was thinking of events to put into the storyboard some ideas had to be changed due to audience preferences. For the storyboard I made a list of what I wanted to show in each shot and explained it, I explained what the shot would be about, that camera angles that would be used in it and what would be shown on screen. As we spent the lesson listening to other groups ideas and presenting ours ideas, I didn’t finish the storyboard but I did have a rough idea on what was going to be on each shot.

- Have some ideas for the draft storyboard

Week 5
In week 5, we got
together and once again we started thinking about our storyline, as we were
talking and discussing I was taking notes on what could be shown on each shot and to
structure our events. I started to
redraft our initial draft storyboard as ideas kept changing. I re-wrote what we
would do instead and once that was completed I started to draw the draft storyboard
out so it would be clear to the group what each shot would look like and what
camera shots would be used. This had to be completed as we wanted to start
filming as soon as possible; we had a few days in mind on when we were free to
go Ruislip Lido and start filming, we also had to make sure we knew what we
wanted to get done on that day so we could have task to keep up to and be on
track without wasting time also order the props we wanted to use.
Within our group we set a target for Friday so we could complete certain tasks. My task was to complete both draft and neat storyboard, think about all the props and costume and write about them on why we used what we used and pictures of the locations and why we chose that specific location.
Later that week we ordered the costumes that would be needed, for example, the tops and trousers – at home I spray painted the tops at the back so there would be a number on their backs which would 'identify' them to make it look like they are in a game show, I also wanted to customised their outfits as this would show their identify, this is because I wanted to portray their characteristics through their costumes.
After thinking about what props we wanted to use we also decided to order them so we could use them in the following week so we can start filming. Next lesson we thought we should start filming so we decided to go around school to set up the backstage scene, we decided to have a backstage scene because we wanted to show that the characters on the island were constantly being watched. We went to a computer room to see if the setting was suitable and if we did film in there what we had to get and do for example get more characters to play the people watching them, use computers and so on.
Next week's goals:
- Start filming the scene with the host: greenroom
- Film in the computer room
- Go film in Ruislip Lido

Week 6
In week 6 we
started to film the presenters scene played by Sasha where she is in front of
the green-screen explaining what the show is about. The green-screen was used
because we wanted to put our own footage behind her of the characters, this
footage was the characters getting an inject, this would also introduce the
characters for the first time. We had to have the presenter talking because we need to explain what key points of
the trailer especially the antidote as the contestants would be fighting for
it.
On the same day we filmed the characters on a chair and getting an injection - this footage would go behind the host. We put a white cloth on the chair so it wouldn't look like an ordinary chair, on the screen it didn’t just look like a cloth it made it look like a dentist chair. We panned across the characters face as this would introduce them and we showed on character getting an injecting, this would show that they all were getting their injections done.
Initially we were going to film sections of the three contestants body but we had to change the idea to pans on their faces so we could introduce our characters also it made it look like there were only two characters because it showed a girls face and another girls feet but when we showed sir he said it looked like it was the same character so we decided to change it to a pan of their faces.
Next lesson we went to film at Ruislip Lido. Ruislip Lido was quite big and had lots of public things around it for example: cafe, playground and a restaurant also there were signs all around the beach which made it really difficult for us to film the establishing shot, this meant we had to be extra careful filming as we did not want to include these areas in our teaser trailer as the island was meant to look abandoned. We had to areas we wanted to film on, the beach and the forest. so we started to look for certain areas to film at so there area would look empty. Also this location had people and dog walkers which made it even more difficult because we didn’t want to film them in the background so we had to make sure our settings were completely empty when filming each part.
On the following lesson me and Navtej started to edit the scene with the host and the footage we wanted behind on the green-screen. This was quite tedious as we had to the 4 different images behind the presenter and size them correctly. The host was moving throughout her speech which made it more difficult as she was moving in front of the images so you couldn't see what was behind her, I came up with the idea of flipping her to the other side and making her smaller so you could see what was behind her and she wasn't walking all over the screen but also big enough so she was on screen.
Next week goals:
- Start filming the contestants on the island and forest
-Film behind the scenes

Week 7
In week 7 I started to look at all the clips
we had filmed last week and start putting them onto the time line on Final Cut
Pro so I could edit them slightly, as we only filmed once we didn’t have enough
footage so I didn’t want to edit them completely in case they didn’t fit it
with the other footage we were going to film later this week. After I did this, me and Harlina started
looking at suitable soundtracks for our teaser trailer. This was very difficult
as we had to find the right soundtrack that would match with our footage which wasn’t
filmed yet. We found a few soundtracks but they sounded like a soundtracks you
would hear in film for pirates which was not the style we were going for, also
the other soundtracks we heard where to
action based which we didn't want, we wanted something that would match our
soundtrack but have a slight twist and not follow all the conventions of our
chosen genre. This was quite difficult because we had to imagine what our
teaser trailer would look like. The following Tuesday we went to Ruislip Lido to film the beach scene, Sasha
filmed the two female characters which where Annie (me) and Aleesha (Harlina)
discovering the new island that they have been placed on, we experimented by
using different camera angles and shots to get a variety so we didn't just have
mid-shot throughout our teaser trailer. We wanted to challenge the convention
as there is always an alpha-male who saves the day, we challenged this
convention by the two females sticking together and the male who goes crazy as
he loses his mind - this would show a vulnerable side to the male character.
When we got into the forest we wanted it to seem like the characters were being watched, to portray this idea we put the camera behind some leaves to make it look like a hidden camera watching over the contestants, we were very lucky as the weather conditions were good, we had a good sunlight exposure in between the leaves which was very useful as they made the trailer look more realistic. When we got back into school we found it difficult to place our clips in order as we didn't film the male character and only filmed the two female character, nevertheless I still edited the teaser trailer so we could have a rough look to see what it would potentially look like. On Wednesday we went back to Ruislip Lido to film the male characters scene, this is where he went crazy. We wanted to get his scenes completed so we could start getting some more footage on Final Cut Pro so it would be easier for me to briefly put up a base storyline.
In the next lesson me and Navtej were editing everything we had film earlier on the week, we took a lot of footage as getting to Ruislip Lido was difficult due to us being in school; how long it takes us to get there and that the sun would set earlier - this was a problem because we wanted to use natural light so we had to film during the day. As we filmed a lot we had to watch every clip and see which clips we preferred and could potentially use in our teaser trailer, we put these clips aside into a different folder so we wouldn't forget what clips we wanted to use. As we hadn't filmed everything it was still difficult to put everything in order on our timeline as we had weren't sure if the events would match, we had to return to our storyboard to see where things would go and imagine what that scene would look like next to the clip. Whilst me and Navtej were editing Harlina and Sasha went to film the backstage of the teaser trailers.
Next week's goals:
- Film in Ruislip Lido of all characters together
- Edit the teaser trailer with the additional footage

Week 8
In week 8 we
filmed all of the characters scenes together and the male character Joey who is
going crazy. We started to look at our teaser trailer as a group to see what we
liked and what we needed to improve, we did this because we knew we were going
to Ruislip Lido this week to film. This week when we filmed we wanted to
highlight Joey going crazy for example Joey ripping up the map and chucking the
compass, when he finds the hidden camera watching him he runs away and so on.
We used the camera which was one of our props and filmed what so the audience
could see that the characters were being watched. We also filmed the scenes of
the characters together, we filmed the bit where the contestants were working together this was
shown when; they were writing 'help' on the sand and walking together and
following the map we also wanted to film the scene where there was conflict
between characters this is going to highlight that everything is getting bad,
the conflict scenes is where when all
characters are going against each other so they can get the antidote. Next lesson
I had time to edit some of the additional footage we gathered on the previous
day and make our teaser trailer come together, this was because sir wanted the
whole class to have a draft of their work so we could watch each other's work
to see where we are all at and give feedback.
We edited the first lesson, we wanted to cut the clips so they were shorter and had a faster pace to create tension. We were given feedback on what they liked about our trailer and what needed to improve and if the teaser trailer made any sense. Some feedback we got was that the storyline was evident within our teaser trailer and made sense however we need more excitement or more action in our teaser trailer just to have more of an edge. We decided to add more characters but we were quite limited with this idea as we would film during school so we decided to reuse our group members but with a mask which would hide their identity. We came up with the idea of a few people coming onto the island wearing gas masks as the air was infected as the characters were injected and make the contestants fight harder for the antidote. We also thought we should re-film the scene where Joey becomes crazy as it wasn't as effective as we wanted it to be, at the end of the lesson me and my group members decided to go back and film at Ruislip Lido and re-do the bits we weren't happy with and take in consideration of the audience feedback.
Next week goals:
- Film in Ruislip Lido of the gas mask people
- Edit the teaser trailer with the additional footage

Week 9
In week 9 we
placed the footage we took last week
when we went to film at Ruislip lido on to Final Cut Pro, I started looking at
all the clips that I liked and started putting them onto the time line, Me and
Navtej started to cut the clips and have an overall look at what our teaser
trailer looked like before we go re-film. This lesson I looked over real media
teaser trailers and see what are the main conventions and how I could incorporate
that within our teaser trailer, I saw that the idents and audience preview
screen were at the beginning so I decided to put our idents and audience
preview screen at the beginning as well, titles (quotes or a sentence of the
film) which came in between the footage and the main title, release date and
billing block at the end of the trailer. I tried to copy this style into our teaser
trailer as it would follow the conventions of a teaser trailer.
Editing the clips where a lot easier because we had a lot of footage to edit and put into order, however it was just taking ages and we had to cut everything carefully and not mess up the other footage. Also editing the footage today helped us realise we had to film the clips of the gas mask people coming into the area and re-film some bits. We had to film this week so we could edit the week after as our deadline was on the following week. Whilst me and Navtej were doing this the other two members of our group started on the ancillary text and looking at inspirational posters and magazine covers and looked at the conventions of them. We started to analyse the posters and broke down the mise-en-scene and started analysing them which would help us with our own ancillary texts.
Next lesson we went to Ruislip Lido to film, we added the bits of the gas mask people entering the game show which would make it harder from them to reach the antidote - this would help improve our teaser trailer as the audience said they wanted to see a bit more violence/action. We did the gas mask person attacking the two girls Annie (me) and Aleesha (Harlina).
Next week goals:
- Look over the footage
- Edit the teaser trailer with the additional footage
Editing the clips where a lot easier because we had a lot of footage to edit and put into order, however it was just taking ages and we had to cut everything carefully and not mess up the other footage. Also editing the footage today helped us realise we had to film the clips of the gas mask people coming into the area and re-film some bits. We had to film this week so we could edit the week after as our deadline was on the following week. Week 10
In week 10 I
was looking at the footage we filmed earlier on the week, I started to edit the
footage and put it into the time line, putting this into the time line was
quite difficult as we had to match it the footage with the other footage, this
meant we had to switch clips around, add and remove some bits from the other
clips. We realised whilst looking at the clips the presenters scene was a bit
long so we decided we wanted to re-film her bits but with a few lines so the
scene is shorter and less compacted this would also just highlight out the key
points.
As we were editing everything and changing everything around our soundtrack was getting messed up so we decided to take out our soundtrack and add it on at the end of the lesson. When we finished editing in that lesson we decided to put the soundtrack back on, when we put the soundtrack back on we weren't liking the soundtrack as much so we decided to re-look at CD case we had available and looked thoroughly through it. We spilt our clips up and we did this by adding titles in between clips and the title would lightly describe what the next clip would be about - we had three sections overall. We wanted to highlight this fact so we decided to get three different soundtracks which would help amplify this idea, we also wanted the soundtrack to increase as the pace of our clip was increasing through the film.
All of us looked through the CDs together and picked out the ones we liked the most, after a long time of searching and eliminating we found three soundtracks we liked for each part of our teaser trailer. One thing we realised whilst going over our teaser trailer was that we actually didn't have a main title for our film, we found it really difficult to find a suitable title which was short and effective but not one word.
Next lesson we looked at everyone's teaser trailers again to see how far we were all at, what we have improved, what is good and what needs improving. This time round we received good comments as they liked the new characters added and the new soundtrack as it wasn't as repetitive.
We were finally getting our teaser trailer sorted but we still had a few things we wanted to change and make our teaser trailer better.
Next week goals:
- Have a title
- Finish off editing
- Complete everything - DEADLINE WEEK!

Week 11
This week
was our final week we had to complete our teaser trailer, we were all panicking
as we still didn’t have title and sort out a few bits which would add to our
teaser trailer. At the beginning of the lesson we had a final look at everyone's
works so we could get our final feedback. We got feedback and quickly had to
make changes as we didn’t have much time. Whilst me and Navtej were editing our
work and thinking of titles as we were going along the other two members of our
group we coming up with suggestions of titles we could potentially use in our teaser
trailer. We started making sure our soundtrack was flowing properly and that
the clips matched. We didn’t have much editing to do apart from minor details
which would make our teaser trailer better. We replaced some clips and
shortened others so make our teaser trailer more dramatic. We were told In our
feedback only one establishing shot was used and would look better if there was
more than one instead of one image being on screen for long. As we had extra clips
and pictures of establishing shots we decided to put them in and put them in
order in the sense of what would you see first in the teaser trailer. Next lesson
we finished off filming and sorting out the titles and billing block as we had
to update our work onto YouTube that day.
Next week's goals:
- Thing of ideas for ancillary texts
- Look at other film posters and Magazine covers
- Analyse other magazine covers and posters

week 12:
We finally completed our teaser trailer last week
and uploaded it, however this wasn’t it, we still had to do our ancillary text
and evaluation. Our first task was to do the ancillary text of our teaser
trailer we only had one week for this, the ancillary text consisted of a poster and a magazine cover
related to our teaser trailer. We split the task up into 3 - I was doing the
poster, Navtej wanted to do the Magazine cover and Sasha and Harlina did the
research for the ancillary text. Sasha and Harlina started to analyse real
posters and magazine covers of film whilst me and Navtej started looking a
conventions for our task. For the poster I looked at lots of different posters
to get different ideas. I saw to 3 posters that I really liked from the film
The Hunger Games, The Condemned and No Country For Old Men. I looked at
conventions of a poster to see how it laid out so we could lay ours out similar
to this. We started thinking of ideas for the poster and we wanted to show all
three characters as they are all important, we also wanted to put in the guy in
the gas mask as this was a twist to the storyline. The posters we looked at
contained more than one character so we thought we would use all of our
characters. I started to draw out some ideas for the poster. Once I did this We
started to think about the Magazine cover and how we wanted to portray this. We looked at lots of
different magazine covers and looked at
their conventions. From this we gathered information for our magazine covers
and started to think about the way we wanted to lay our magazine cover out. The
magazine covers we looked had one character on the cover and the character wasn’t
always the main character.
We decided to take pictures this week so we could start editing this week as well. For the poster we took pictures outside behind trees to look like the setting of the film and we took it the other pictures in the greenroom so we could use other footage behind the main image. for the magazine cover we took all the pictures behind the green screen so we could put another image behind. For the poster we preferred the image behind the green screen so we could put different images behind it. I started to draw out a rough copy on how I wanted the poster to look and Navtej did the same with the magazine cover, we discussed within our group on what we liked about it and what we could change.
Next week's lesson:
- Start on the poster and magazine
- Finish of research and analysis
- Draw draft poster ideas

Week 13
This week was our deadline week for the ancillary
text. Sasha and Harlina finished off the research and analyses whilst me and Navtej
were on Photoshop, we all helped each other on each section so all of our ideas
and input could contribute and also to help each other out. Today I was
finishing off editing, however sir didn’t like our initial idea so we had to
change it, we came up with the idea of the guy behind looking down instead of
straight and having the colours darker to suit the mood also the background was
looking plain so we had to add something to it.
We re-took pictures of the guy in the gas mask but this time looking down and edited that on Photoshop. I started to change the background and I also had to cut the green out of the main image which took ages. Once I laid everything we realised the picture looked a bit plain so we decided to add different effects, we showed sir and he wasn’t happy about it either and thought we needed to add something.
Next lesson I kept experimenting with effects and realised that the background needed something extra as the background was empty, because it was the sky I thought we used put clouds in the background. I wasn’t happy with it yet because it still looked empty and when I was putting in the titles I made a mistake by using the wrong colour which was like a dull mustard, however this mistake was good because I thought of an idea as we could have key words in a dull mustard colour behind the main image which would stand out, this also filled in the empty gap. At the end of the lesson we showed sir and he was happy. next lesson we finished and polished up both magazine cover and poster and uploaded it on to our websites.
Next week's lesson:
- Start on your chosen evaluation question.
- Write a draft answer to your chosen question

Week 14
This week we
had to start our evaluation questions as our ancillary text was completed. We
had four questions to answer about our project so we decided to pick one
question each as we had four members. For our evaluation we had to make it creative, this meant we had to do something other than having our answers written or typed and it had to be presentable. We as a group decided to make a quiz show where the audience ask the characters a question but the question would be the questions we have to answer and then this would turn into a voiceover and whilst we are answering our questions there will be pictures related to what we are saying and our teaser trailer. We wanted to link our evaluation with our teaser trailer that's why we had a quiz show also the questions we had had the same font as the teaser trailer and poster and this would link back. For my evaluation question I did the technology question which was
'How did you use media technology in the construction and research, planning
and evaluation stages?' I started writing a list of things I would use in each section and
what technologies I used; hardware and software, I also wrote down points that
I would like to consider using when writing out my evaluation questions. My
question was quite blunt in what it was asking and very repetitive, so I had to
be very careful in what I was saying because I didn't want to repeat too much.
I my question I wanted to include what we did throughout our projects, this was
a wide question as I had to speak about all the steps from pre production to
post and the ancillary text and evaluation. I wanted to talk about what we used
and why we used the technology we did, I also spoke about how we used it and
why. In the first lesson we had to write a draft answer to our question for our
teacher to mark and we had to hand this in at the end of the week. We all
helped each other with our questions so we could get more ideas also this would
help improve our questions as we all read through each other's and corrected it
before handing it to our teacher at the end of the week. I spoke about all the
hardware and software technologies we used and why for instance the green-room because we wanted to put our
own images behind, a tripod to get high angled shots and steady shots. I also
spoke about what we used on Final Cut Pro and why we used it for example the
effects and transitions. Next lesson I finished
off writing my question and gave it to sir near the beginning of the lesson,
sir marked my work and told me what I was missing and what needed to be
improved, the structure of my work was not correct so I had to restructure and
add more information and explain why I used certain things.
Next week's lesson:
- Finish off last paragraph
- Start recording
- Edit recordings on final cut pro

Week 15
This week I finished off my last paragraph. Me and
Navtej started to collect pictures related to what we were going to say and
putting it onto Final Cut Pro whilst Sasha and Harlina were recording. The
first lesson we did our own then the next lesson we got pictures for Sasha and Harlina.
Later on the lesson I recorded my voiceover and put it on to Final Cut Pro.
Next lesson Navtej recorded his voiceover put it on to Final Cut Pro. We were
restricted as we only had two Mac's so me and Navtej were on one Mac whilst
Sasha and Harlina were sharing the other Mac, this restricted us as we had to
wait for one of us to do some bits of our question then next half of the lesson
the other person would do theirs. To edit quicker when recording our voiceover
we took long pauses and when we messed up we said that line again, this help
speed up the time for us to edit our voiceovers. Both me and Navtej edited our voiceover
by the end of the week.
Next week's lesson:
- Start putting related pictures on the time line

Week 16
This week we were all editing our evaluation
questions, this was taking ages to edit as we had to find suitable images from
our work and match what we were saying also we didn't want to leave gaps so we
had to fill up everything without leaving some images on screen for too long, we
also showed sections of certain clips that inspired us and showed it against
our work, we also had to go through all the pictures we took and the clips we
used to match with what we were saying this was very tedious and took up a lot
of time. Whilst I was doing this Navtej was working on this Weebly site so it
is up to date and nothing was missing, next lesson we swapped so I was working
on my Weebly and blogging Navtej was putting pictures onto his question.
Next week's lesson:
- Finish of evaluation question
- Film the quiz show

Week 17
This week we started to film our quiz show, this
took a while to film as we weren't exactly sure how we wanted film and we
needed something quick as we only had this week to finish on because next Monday
was our deadline. We started filming and once we did this we put it on to the
computer but I didn't look right so we spoke to our teacher and he helped us
think of a new idea. Later that week we re-filmed and filmed the new idea which
seemed so much better. After we re-filmed this we put it up onto the computer
and started to finishing off our evaluation, that lesson I was nearly finished
my evaluation and let Navtej do his. Next lesson I finished off the my evaluation question started
to look at what we filmed but somehow when I was putting the chroma key effect
it was chopping off Sasha's feet and head we weren't sure why and we tried
everything for this not to happen, this took the whole lesson so we decided to
re- film next week, this was really risky as next week Monday was our last
lesson as it was our deadline for evaluation.
Next week's lesson
- Re-film the quiz show
- Complete evaluation
- DEADLINE WEEK

Week 18
This was our final week for our practical projects before we
break up for Christmas holidays this meant everything had to be on our Weebly
sites and up to date as we would not be returning to this. Last week when we filmed the quiz show part when putting it up to final cut pro
it wasn't working as so we filmed this week on Monday. We didn't have long to
film as our deadline was the end of this lesson. Me and my group all finished our
editing last week so we didn't have to
edit. All we had to do this week was re-film the quiz show bit and edit that
onto Final Cut Pro, I was filming Sasha whilst Navtej and Harlina were making
sure that there was nothing wrong or any mistakes in our evaluation. After I filmed
Sasha bit we put it on to Final Cut Pro and started to edit it and put pictures
onto it. Once we completed this we swapped Macs with Sasha and Harlina just to
have a final check and make sure everything was completed and no little
mistakes. Finally once this was done we uploaded it on to YouTube. This meant
our practical unit was finally completed.
